When providing professional services, we are a Data Controller and are, therefore, responsible for complying with GDPR in respect of certain personal data we process when providing those services. We are also a Data Processor when acting as agent for our corporate clients. In those circumstances our client is the Data Controller. As our clients’ agent we may receive and process personal data in respect of which our client is Data Controller.

4. How we use your personal information
We collect, hold and process data to enable us to provide professional services to our clients, including where our Insolvency Practitioners (“IPs”) act as Administrator, Receiver, Liquidator, Supervisor or Trustee in relation to insolvency proceedings.
We may require such data to perform our obligations under a contract between us and our client. Alternatively, in providing our services we may have a legitimate interest in the data we hold, or we may be required to collect such data to comply with a legal obligation.
The legal basis for processing your data depending on the nature of your relationship with us is shown in the table below.
5. Who we share your personal information with
Your data may be held securely by organisations with which we contract to store data in electronic form or store data in the form of physical files or storage media.
Your data may also be securely processed on our behalf by organisations with which we contract to provide services such as identity verification, asset valuation and disposal, accountancy, payroll and the processing of claims by employees of insolvent entities.
It may be necessary to disclose limited personal data when our IPs are acting on behalf of clients in relation to the disposal or sale of a client’s business or assets.
We may also be required to share your data with government agencies, the Courts, professional regulators or to other third parties in compliance with legal or regulatory obligations.
6. How long we keep your personal information for
We will only keep your data for as long as it is necessary for us to fulfil our contractual, legal or professional obligations. When we are no longer required to keep your data, or it is no longer considered necessary your data will be deleted or securely destroyed.

We do not intend to transfer your personal information outside the European Union.

We use exp_last_activity so every time the page is reloaded the last activity is set to the current date and time. It is used to determine form or login expiry. This is essential for logged in users to record their data and not lose it as it is being input. The expiry time 12 months.
exp_last_visit sets the date and time that the you last visited the site. Affects guests and logged in users. The expiry time is 12 months.
exp_tracker tracks the last 5 pages you viewed and is used primarily for redirection after some actions on the site ie moving back to pages. This affects guests and logged in users. This cookie expires when you leave the site.
We also use exp_csrf_token. This cookie protects against Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF). A CSRF attack forces a logged-on victim’s browser to send a forged HTTP request, including the victim’s session cookie and any other automatically included authentication information, to a vulnerable web application. It expires from your computer after one hour.
exp_stashid generates a unique ID that relates to session values that determine the current state of the website and any actions you have performed. Expiry time: session.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information such as patterns of visitor behaviour so that we can identify for instance the number of visitors to a specific page and so improve the navigation and layout of our website. This information is not collected in a way which allows us to identify any individual.
